String dipped type #typeface #handcrafted

The shapes were created with a string dipped in acrylic paint and printed inbetween 2 sheets of paper. This resulted in a large number of free forms that were not consciously created. A brush was used to paint reduced shapes ranging from a stroke to circles and blocks. The free forms were analysed and in order to read out the beginnings of letters. The free and geometric forms were combined more systematically so that legible letters are created.
