The furniture system ÇA VA, which was designed together with Lenn Gerlach, translates the inviting atmosphere of a café and its charming furnishings into a sustainable furniture for the public space. A café serves as a meeting place for communication and invites people to linger in an informal way. It is a place of exchange and relaxation where you come together. The elongated seats create privacy, but still provide a physical connection between groups and individuals. From three bench lengths, as well as a long and short backrest, different arrangements can be created, which can individually address respective locations in a city. We see this project as a design of situations that create harmonic areas for groups and individuals in an urban environment. The benches using “Accoya” wood and powder-coated steellegs and frames.
The Furniture System ÇA VA is produced by Weishäupl Werkstätten. This Project was done in collaboration with the city of Rottweil in Germany and it will be implemented in the city in 2020.
This project has been awarded as winner at the “ein&zwanzig” design competition at Salone del Mobile in Milano 2020.
